Learn More +Our Story began when Tony Farruggia Sr, originally from Buffalo, New York, came to Tucson when he was offered a job to build a wash at the 49ers Country Club. However, this wash never developed due to permitting. So, Tony started trimming trees and fell in love with the Tucson weather. This lead Tony to start doing landscaping, cleanup and drainage work to provide for his family. In 1984, Tony Sr. started Tony’s Construction. He started by collecting rock, all by hand, out of Sabino Canyon with one old brown dump truck. He then incorporated this rock with concrete, which became known as grouted rip rap.

Our company does many forms of slope protection and erosion control, such as hand placed rip rap, grouted rip rap, shotcrete, gabion baskets, etc. Over the many years of experience, we are able to start and complete all jobs within a reasonable time frame and stick to deadlines.

Most of our men have been with us for over 30+ years, which allows us to continue with our great quality and production. Tony has passed all of these values onto his son’s and to this day, with Rockridge Construction, as a family, they still work to train and retain great people on their team and maintain the excellent quality of work that Tony Sr first established.
